* Cristallerie du Creusot:

In 1787, the King's State Council decided to transfer the Manufacture of the Queen's Crystals, from Sèvres to Montcenis. Built on the plans of Barthélémy Jeanson, the buildings house workshops, offices, housing administrators and workers and furnaces, installed in two tapered halls. Until its repurchase in 1832 by the establishments of Saint-Louis and Baccarat, the crystal works knows a big radiation. Eugène Schneider, now manager of forges and workshops of Le Creusot, bought the buildings of the old crystal factory which he made his residence. The castle of the Verrerie, Historical Monument, is property of the city of Creusot.
