Brush pot called Bitong in incised ivory decorated with a scene with several women in an interior admiring a roller painting; on the other side a woman playing the zither at the edge of a body of water, a sacred mountain in the background, with a poem and the signature engraved on the side, from China, from the 19th century.
This pot is in good condition, in its own juice. Signed see photos.
A note: the bottom has been glued (weakness), some dirt, scratches and wear of time, look at the photos.
Specimen in worked ivory, prior to July 1, 1947 and therefore conforms to Regulation EC 338/97 of 12/09/1996 art.2-Wmc.
