** The Prairie-du-Duc Island:

is one of the former Loire Islands of Nantes, France, which today corresponds to the northwestern part of the island of Nantes. It was in the west of the Loire islands dependent on Nantes. It was separated from the islands of Grande Biesse and Petite Biesse by the "Toussaint drink", the arm of the Loire filled corresponding to the current Boulevard Gustave-Roch. To the south was Île Sainte-Anne. To the north, it was also separated from the island Cochard, agglomerated on the island of Prairie-au-Duc in the nineteenth century. Until the end of the 1920s, the island was also covered by canals which were gradually filled, and which facilitated the transport by water of goods from or to the surrounding factories.
