Oil on panel representing a seaside landscape with many boats, most certainly in the Côtes d'Armor in Brittany, signed J. Ruellan *, vintage late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
This painting is in good condition. Signed lower right.

landscape painter (Ec fr). Student of JP Laurens and B. Constant. Member of French Artists since 1901, he appeared at the Salon of this group; honorable mention in 1897. The Saint-Brieuc Museum has a painting by this artist. (Cf Bénézit)
