** Hubert de Liège, one of the Saint Hubert (656 or 658- 727) is a Christian saint, bishop of Tongres and Maastricht, patron saint of hunters and foresters. He is also the patron saint of the Belgian city of Liège.
Since the 15th century it has been said that Lord Hubert was so passionate about hunting that he forgot his duties. Legend has it that he could not resist his passion on Good Friday, and having found no one to accompany him, had gone hunting without any company. On this occasion, he began to hunt a ten-horned white deer when it leaped from a thicket, stopped dead and turned around. It was then that his hunter saw a crucifix between its antlers. The animal then introduced itself as being the Crucified and asked him to convert.
