A finely chiseled vermeil silver jug with a cut-away body delicately decorated with stylized plant friezes, resting on an octagonal gavel pedestal, punched Minerva (1st title) and punch of the goldsmith Puiforcat * Paris, bone handle (of beef), in the taste of the great master silversmiths of Strasbourg, period late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

This carafe is in good condition and is of exceptional quality of carving. Marked in several places see photos.

Puiforcat is a goldsmith's house founded in 1820 in Paris by the brothers Emile and Joseph-Marie Puiforcat, and their cousin Jean-Baptiste Fuchs.
