Ewer in finely chiseled solid silver, piedouche with gadroons, body decorated with plant motif and flowers, handle with leafy frieze, Vieillard hallmark (1st title in Paris), Big Guarantee and CAL silversmith for Charles Antoine Amand Lenglet *, 1st half period XIXth century (1823-1843).

This ewer is in good condition. Beautiful quality of carving. Hallmarked see photos.

* Charles Antoine Amand Lenglet (1791-1855):
Engraver Goldsmith Painter Sculptor.
After spending his youth in Saint-Quentin, Charles Antoine Amand Lenglet went to Paris and took up the career of steel engraver, then that of goldsmith jeweler. He acquired the establishment of the goldsmith Jean Pierre Nicolas Bibron. He had his punch inspected on October 25, 1823. He lived in 32 rue de Bourg l'Abbé in Paris. Hallmark: a lion and a star above, surrounded by the letters CAL Its establishment is soon one of the first in the capital. At an advanced age, in 1843, he sold it to the goldsmith Pierre François Augustin Turquet and decided to devote himself to sculpture.
