Earthenware sculpture Bavent * representing a rabbit sitting, vintage twentieth century.

This sculpture is in fair condition.

A report: ear broken and glued and some lack of cracked (see photos).


* Issue of the company "La Tuilerie Norman" created in 1842, the company "Pottery du Mesnil Bavent" continues the tradition.

Epis Ridge glazed earthenware, traditional ornaments of the Pays d'Auge (Normandy) already known in the fifteenth century. Replacing lead ears, they are indeed ornament manors, mansions and all remain prosperous in the region. While the company "La Tuilerie Norman" had developed a sideline manufacturing tiles and clay bricks, divested in 1987, "The pottery of Mesnil Bavent" decided to focus solely on the production of corn and animals in terracotta.

The company's products are well made entirely by hand, in accordance with the techniques used by potters Lower Normandy since the inception of the company in 1842.
