Oil on panel representing the portrait of a young boy in children's clothing (lace dress and scarf), signed Hip. Listed* and dated 1855, in an oval gilded frame decorated with flowers, vintage mid-19th century.
This painting is in good general condition as is its frame. Signed and dated lower right.
Note: some small accidents and losses on the frame, some slight paint losses at the edge of the canvas, wear and tear, see photos (see red arrows).
painter born in Brest. He studied with Paul DELAROCHE; was appointed drawing teacher at the Brest high school and began, in 1846, to exhibit at the Paris Salon.
