Bergère with ears Louis XV in carved lacquered wood decorated with flowers, armrests with windings and arched legs leafed on casters, rare backrest system with rack to adjust its inclination, velvet upholstery from Genoa, stamped by the cabinetmaker Gourdin *, 18th century period.

This shepherdess is in good condition and is of high quality. Stamped below. The rack system works (sometimes a little hard to engage).

A note: wear and tear on the fabric, old wormholes on the wood, wear of time, look at the photos (see red arrows).

* Jean-Baptiste Gourdin (1723-1781):

master in 1748. Eldest son of Jean Gourdin, he has a workshop on rue de Cléry. Its production which will continue until the beginning of the reign of Louis XVI includes classic models - daybeds, deckchairs, chairs, armchairs - where we find the nobility of the proportions, the elegance of the lines, restraint, layouts in honor by Gourdin Père. Most of his works are in the Louis XV style. The carved decoration, drawn with vigor, remains, with few exceptions, quite reduced. In terms of exceptional models, let us cite a large Louis XV shepherdess with removable feet and belt allowing it to be transformed into a chaise longue ...
