* Vervelle Ainé (1800-1856)

Great cabinetmaker of the Second Empire. Vervelle Aîné exercised 157 Rue du faubourg in Paris from 1825 to 1856. The Vervelle house was founded by his father, Jean-François, in 1804. His specialty was small furniture and the most diverse boxes and cases, tapestries (his first profession was upholsterer). In 1840 it counted nearly a hundred workers. He then made fancy furniture, wedding baskets, liquor cabinets, kits and travel kits.
