* Auguste Moreau (1831-1917)

third son of statuary and painter Jean-Baptiste Moreau, he began to sculpt with his brother Mathurin. In 1861, he made his debut at the Salon, where he exhibited regularly and abundantly until 1913. His subjects are similar to other members of the Moreau dynasty. Numerous bronzes appear among his shipments at the Salon, as well as marbles and plasters. Many subjects, then very fashionable, Auguste Moreau were published in bronze.
(extract Bronzes of the nineteenth century by P.Kjellberg).
