* Adrien Etienne Gaudez (1845-1902):

He entered the Beaux-Arts in 1862 and started at the Salon two years later. In 1870, a prisoner of war in Magdeburg, Germany, he sculpts the monument to the French soldiers who died in captivity and who will be brought up in the city's cemetery. At the Salon, his bronzes are few. We can mention The Harvester (1880), Pro Patria (1884), The First Printers (1888), Watteau (1890), The Engineering of Electricity (1897), the Reaper (1899). (extract The Bronzes of the nineteenth century by P. Kjellberg)
