Bronze sculpture (with golden patina) representing a beautiful young woman standing on a globe surrounded by clouds, and holding a cloth between her two hands, signed Aug. Moreau, vintage late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

This sculpture is in very good condition. Signed on the side of the globe. Cartridge on the front "L'Aurore Aug. Moreau, Médaille au Salon".

A note: some tiny wear of time, see photos.

* Auguste Moreau (1831-1917)

third son of the statuary and painter Jean-Baptiste Moreau, he was introduced to sculpture with his brother Mathurin. In 1861, he made his debut at the Salon, where he exhibited regularly and extensively until 1913. His subjects related him to other members of the Moreau dynasty. Many bronzes are among his shipments to the Salon, as well as marbles and plasters. Many subjects, then very fashionable, of Auguste Moreau were published in bronze.
(extract The Bronzes of the XIXth century by P.Kjellberg).

Artist very well rated on ArtPrice.
