Small bronze sculpture brown patina representing a young wildlife or stayre carrying a basket on his back (he even posed on a rock), red marble base, signed Clodion *, of XIXth century.

This sculpture is in good condition. It is signed on the back on the rock.

A note: slight traces of dirt, tiny holes in the basket, micro-chips on the edge of marble, wear time, see photos.

* Claude Michel said Clodion (1738- 1814):

Lorraine sculptor, then in 1766 from French. In 1755 he went to Paris in the studio of his maternal uncle Lambert Sigisbert Adam, sculptor. He stayed four years, then became the death of his uncle a student of Jean-Baptiste Pigalle. He is known for his mythological groups of dancers, nymphs bathing or terracotta. He has also performed works of great proportion, including "Hercules in repose", "Scamander River", "The Flood", a bust of Tronchet, etc. He is the author of the decor "aquatic" Castle Digoine.
