* Founded in 1690, the Odiot House gained notoriety under the reign of Louis XV with Jean Baptiste Gaspard Odiot, recognized as one of the best goldsmiths of his time. The EMPIRE AND HIS FASTES open a page of glory for Odiot, under the leadership of Jean-Baptiste Claude, grandson of Jean Baptiste Gaspard, who will see his extraordinary talent rewarded by the prestigious orders of the Emperor and his family. CHARLES NICOLAS ODIOT will be the worthy successor of his father and will become the appointed supplier of King Louis-Philippe and the Orléans family. He will excel in the return of rock style. His SON GUSTAVE becomes in turn the goldsmith of the great and powerful. It is he who will realize the greatest order that the House Odiot has ever received: no less than three thousand gold cutlery for Said Pasha, Viceroy of Egypt. It is he who will obtain the title of Provider of the Court of His Imperial Majesty the Tsar. He is the last of the Odiot to hold the reins of the company. (extract site of the House Odiot)
