Pair of Louis XV candlesticks with coats of arms, silver-plated metal, Christofle, 19th century

Pair of Louis XV style candlesticks in finely chiseled silver-plated metal, decorated with a coat of arms with a chevron shield and three stars on the base, straight socket mounted on a curved baluster shaft, round base with contours and moldings, hallmark of Maison Christofle*, from the second half of the 19th century.
These candlesticks are in good condition and have their bobeches. They are of good quality and very decorative. They are hallmarked on the base.

is a French silversmith brand, founded in 1830 by Charles Christofle. Its master silversmith hallmarks were registered in 1845, the date of the first "silvered goldsmith" factory. At the end of the 19th century, Christofle began producing silver-plated objects. Emperor Napoleon III ordered all the official dinner services of the Empire from Christofle in 1851. From the second half of the 19th century, Christofle also became the supplier to ministries, embassies, and parliaments around the world, as well as to luxury hotels, shipping companies, and railways, both French and foreign.
