Old rod known as Cape Hornier or captain, in shark vertebrae on iron core, work of a sailor, XIXth century.
This cane is in its own juice. These rods were often offered by sailors to their captain.
A note: breakage and gaps in the bottom of the rod (we have a piece that will have to be reattached), the ferrule is missing, probably oxidation of the iron rod, scratches and wear of time, take a good look at the photos.
