Old system grainetier cane, golden brass with sliding system with three compartments, pommel certainly Ebonite * carved in the shape of horse head, above the barrel decorated with a pastoral scene with a dog keeping two goats, period early twentieth century.
This rod is in good condition.

** Charles Goodyear won the Ebonite in 1839 by subjecting the natural rubber to prolonged process (and extreme) vulcanization. Its color close to that of ebony is the origin of its name. His brother Nelson Goodyear's patented and marketed in 1851.
