Superb and rare mahogany chair harpist finely carved, shaped back yoke decorated with palm leaves, swivel seat covered with velvet, stamped Jacob * antique restoration nineteenth century.

This chair is in good condition. It is stamped below. It is adjustable in height.

A note: restorations in the upper back, missing the end of a foot, some small cracks and holes to elders, wear on the velvet, see photos (red arrows).

* JACOB

Dynasty carpenters and cabinetmakers in activity of the reign of Louis XV to the Restoration. Georges (1739-1814) became a master in 1765, he realized many seats first rock and neo-classical. Son Georges Jacob (1768-1803) and his brother François-Honoré (1770-1841) continued the family business Meslée street under the Directory.
