Gilt bronze Directoire-style column portico clock with Artemis greyhounds, late 18th century
Articles
A Directoire-style gilt bronze portico clock with columns, decorated with two greyhounds standing on the dial, at the top a trophy with a bovine head in a garland; below, a wide openwork drapery, on the base the face of the goddess Artemis with oak branches, pendulum in the shape of a tortoise, dating from the late 18th-early 19th centuries.
This clock is in very good condition and of superb quality. It has been serviced and works perfectly.
Note: the turtle may be a replacement (but it suits him well), some scratches on the dial (micro-electrical around the winding holes), slight wear from age, see photos.
