Half coconut carved, decorated with a medallion framed by garlands plant, and a quiver of arrows and a torch, work as a sailor or convict *, of XIXth century.
This coconut is in good condition.
A note: small slit in the top left (see red arrow), slight stain on the medallion, scratches and normal wear see photos.

* The coconut as the tagua was worked by sailors or also by convicts. The latter worked to pass the time but mainly to get some money to improve their lives. Can also be attributed to sailors during their long journeys. These objects are coconut or corozo fine examples of folk art.
