Rectangular coffee table of the Maison Baguès, lacquered tray with rich polychrome decoration of birds among colored peonies and foliage on a black background, gilded bronze structure with imitation bamboo, vintage twentieth century.
This table is in good condition, in its own juice. We have a rectangular glass protection tile (see last photo).

Specialized in the creation of art luminaries that combine bronze, gilded iron and crystals. Renowned around the world and highly sought after by art lovers, this house, which has existed since the 19th century, produces these luminaries from a collection of several thousand plans and technical drawings dating from the origin of the company. Ironwork, hammering, decorations on metal (gilt to the sheet, old-fashioned patinas) engraving and bronze mount are carried out according to traditional methods. Several pieces produced by the company are present in prestigious sites such as the Palace of Versailles. Created around 1840 by Noël Baguès , the Baguès house is specialized in the production of liturgical bronzes . In 1880 the son, Eugène Baguès , develops the company by manufacturing bronzes of lighting, development favored by the generalization of the electricity. Between the two wars, Victor and Robert Baguès expand the collection of bronze lamps inspired by Epoque models and expand their production by creating furniture. These models are reproduced according to the rules of the art and quickly obtain a high notoriety abroad. Branches are open in New York, London, Brussels, Rome, Cairo. In 1957, Jean-Pierre Baguès , son of Victor Baguès , gives back the company its family character, renovates the collection and creates novelties.
