* Caunes-Minervois marble, also known as Languedoc marble, is a pale pink to blood-red marble veined with white. It has been quarried since ancient Roman times and continues to be so today. The red marble, the "incarnate" of Caunes-Minervois, has become one of the most famous and prestigious French marbles, thanks to the harmony of its pinkish-red color combined with the softness of its white veins. It was widely used at Versailles.
