Commode Transition inlaid rosewood, satin and tinted wood veneer, jump in front 2 drawers, decorated with colorful flowers, gilt bronze ornaments, top red royal * marble resting on four curved legs, very model certainly from Delorme ** work of a carpenter in the Faubourg St. Antoine around 1900, vintage late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
This chest is in very good condition and is of high quality. We have his keys. The marble was tailléfaçon XVII on the back (see photo).
A note: two small marquetry gaps between the two drawers (we take care to restore them on request), slight wear of time, see photos.
* The Royal red marble comes from Carrère haumont in Blegique. It is characterized by white calcite flames. Widely used in furniture and decoration. (See Identifying marbles Dubarry J. Lassalle).
