Pair of perfume bottles in cut crystal with diamond points, most certainly work of the Cristallerie du Creusot* in Montcenis, ring in finely chiseled gilt bronze, from the Restoration period around 1820-1830 19th century.
These bottles are in good overall condition and of very high quality. They have their crystal stoppers.
Note: some small accidents and chips on a stopper (see red arrows), micro-chips on the crystal (on the points), soiling inside and wear from time, see photos.
In 1787, the King's Council of State decided to transfer the Queen's Crystal Factory from Sèvres to Montcenis. Built according to the plans of Barthélémy Jeanson, the buildings housed workshops, offices, living quarters for administrators and workers, as well as the furnaces, installed in two conical halls. Until its acquisition in 1832 by the Saint-Louis and Baccarat companies, the crystal factory enjoyed considerable renown. Eugène Schneider, who had become manager of the forges and workshops of Le Creusot, bought the buildings of the former crystal factory and made them his residence. The Château de la Verrerie, a listed historical monument, is owned by the city of Le Creusot.
