White opaline egg cup with garlands of flowers and gilt bows, Charles X style, 19th century
Articles
Egg cup on a foot in milky white opaline (possibly Baccarat) with hand-painted decoration of bouquets of colored flowers forming garlands with bows and ribbons, border finely enhanced with a gold fillet, from the Charles X period, 19th century.
This egg cup is in good condition and of very fine quality. It is entirely representative of objects from the Charles X period (1824-1830) with its use of dense, milky opaline glass, the style of the decoration (flowers, ribbons), and the presence of the gold rim. A superb, refined little object from the 1820s-30s.
Note: small damage (small old crack) at the neck (see last two photos) which has been restored, wear to the paint on the decorations in places, wear of time, see photos.
