Crystal-faced paperweight or crystal sulphide of Saint-Louis *, decorated millefiori with small colored flowers surrounding a crystallo-ceramic ** representing the portrait of General de Gaulle, signed SL for Saint-Louis and dated 1976, in its box Of origin, of time XXème century.

This clipboard is in good condition. It is signed SL 1976 inside, it also has its original pellet.

Remember: slight small scratches and wear of time on the box, see photos.

* The Verrerie Royale of Saint-Louis, located in the French commune of Saint-Louis-lès-Bitche in Moselle, is the oldest crystal factory in France (1586). In 1829, the glassware became the Compagnie des Cristalleries de Saint Louis. The crystal factory, still in operation today, is bought in 1989 by the famous luxury home Hermès. Saint-Louis is after Baccarat, the largest French crystal.

** Crystal-ceramics is a technique for decoration of glass that was created towards the end of the 19th century. It consists in including in a crystal object a ceramic cameo that has been previously molded and then finely chiselled by hand. (See ProAntic)
