A four-lobed (biscuit) tin or covered pot in glass paste signed Gallé*, with acid-etched decoration of foliage and berries or currants, with the label of the store "A la Paix 34 Av de l'Opéra", from the Art Nouveau period, late 19th-early 20th centuries.

*Émile Gallé (1846-1904) was a French industrialist, master glassmaker, cabinetmaker, and ceramist. He was the founder and first president of the École de Nancy in 1901. A child of art and commerce, he was one of the most prominent figures in the applied arts of his time and a pioneer of Art Nouveau.
