* The Jansen House

Is an interior decoration house located in Paris. It was founded in 1880 by the Dutchman Jean-Henri Jansen. Jansen House is considered the first global design firm to have made its name a brand, offering its services in Europe, Latin America, North America and the Middle East. From its beginnings, Maison Jansen has combined traditional furnishings with new trends inspired by the Anglo-Japanese style, the Arts & Crafts movement and the Turkish style. In ten years the firm had become one of the biggest buyers of antiques in Europe and by 1890 it had created an antique gallery as a separate company which acquired and sold items to Jansen House customers and even To its competitors. In 1880, Maison Jansen had no workshop to create its own furniture; She used antique furniture or furniture made by craftsmen. In the early 1940s Maison Jansen created its own workshops in rue Saint SABIN in Paris, employing 200 craftsmen and craftsmen in each trade (cabinetmaking, tapestry, lacquer, gilding, bronze, lighting).
