Trumeau mirror in carved wood with colonnettes and side panels, Consulate/Empire period, 18th-19th century
Articles
Gilt carved wooden trumeau mirror, with architectural decoration of Corinthian capitals surmounting small columns or pilasters on the side uprights, which allow a glimpse of the mirror's glass panes; frame elegantly decorated with arabesques and foliate scrolls, original mercury glass, from the Consulate - First Empire period, late 18th-early 19th centuries.
This trumeau is in good overall condition, in its original state. It is very decorative due to its architectural composition enhanced by the delicate plant motifs. The gilt patina is worn.
Note: some damage and missing pieces on the wood, both in the lower part and at the top near the columns; the glass is a little "worn" in places, look carefully at the detail photos.
