Neo-gothic chalice in sterling silver vermeillé finely chiselled ears of wheat, grapes and foliage, decorated with angels in prayer (embossed), sheaves of wheat forming the feet, set with small precious stones (emeralds, sapphires) on the bowl and diamonds, pearls and sapphires on the foot, punch Minerva (1st title) and goldsmith Besnard * in Paris (1900-1911), vintage early twentieth century.
This chalice is in very good condition and is of exceptional quality. Hallmarked see photos, signed under the foot. He has a paten silver vermeil also (Minerva punch and goldsmith VF for Villard and Fabre 1900-), she is not the original but it is fine. The foot is encircled with enamels with inscription "hic est enim calix sanguinis mei"
A note: some small accidents and lack of stones and diamonds on the foot (some small roses are damaged), some lack of white enamel around the inscription, dirt, micro-scratches and wear time, look good photos.
