Very nice and rare old photograph showing the ship "Puritan" * sailing in 1885, perhaps at the America's Cup, signed by the photographer JSJohnston View Photo & Marine NY, period late nineteenth century.
This photograph is in good condition. It is indeed an old original print. It is signed lower right and left (barely visible). A report: tasks, and dirt on the print jaunissures see photos.
* U.S. Sloop of 1851. Designed by Edward Burgess, the Puritan was a sloop of just under 30 meters long with a
good width and drift mobile feature American ships of this class. In 1885, under the command of Captain Aubrey Crocker he defended the America's Cup against the English cutter Genesta and defeated two events only.
