Gustave germain:

Gustave Germain 1843-1909 was a pupil of Charles Gumery, Auguste Dumont and L. Debut. He made his Salon debut in 1881, receiving an honorable mention in 1889 and a bronze medal at the Universal Exhibition of 18893. He was knight of the Legion of Honor. He is presumed to be related to Jean-Baptiste Germain.

His workshop is located in the 14th arrondissement of Paris.

From 1869 to 1881, he was associated with the sculptor Antoine Watrinelle within the company “Watrinelle et Germain, industrial, decorative and artistic sculpture company”, whose head office is located at no 13 rue Boissonade in Paris. The company worked in particular with the architect Jean-Louis Pascal then worked for the Duke of Aumale at the Château de Chantilly.

Gustave Germain is known for his sets at the Petit Palais in Paris.

He is Marie Sophie Desmaret's uncle and he has a son, Charles Germain, born in 1872 and died in 1900.

Gustave Germain died on April 27, 1909 in Paris.
