Capodimonte porcelain statuette Napoleon 1st, 20th


Statuette of Capodimonte Italian porcelain *, representing the Emperor Napoleon on horseback, vintage twentieth century.

This statue is in good condition. It is signed by a crowned N on the horse.

A note: the attachment of the reins is torn on the right side, missing what was the emperor in his left hand, small hole in the bottom of the garment, slight defects of enamel, see photos.


* The Capodimonte porcelain

porcelain produced by the factory of the same name established in 1743 on the hilly area of Capodimonte in Naples, under the leadership of Charles de Bourbon, King of Naples and later Charles III of Spain. With his wife, Queen Marie-Amélie, they instituted the Royal Factory of Capodimonte Capodimonte adjoining the palace of Naples, a former royal summer residence. With this factory, monarchs give birth to one of the famous Italian art form. King collects masterpieces the Capodimonte Museum. The Capodimonte porcelain has survived time thanks to the creativity of Neapolitan artists. The porcelain of Capodimonte (signed a crowned N), are recognized and sought after by collectors.
