Exceptional and rare large oil on canvas depicting a marine landscape with yachts in a harbor in Belgium certainly signed H.Callot *, canvas presented at the Ghent World Fair in 1913 **, in its original context , vintage early twentieth century.

This oil is in good condition. It is signed lower right and a door at the back of the exhibition Ghent tag of 1913. The frame is damaged on him.

A note: a small hole in the fabric on the left side, a few cracks visible features on the canvas (slightly relaxed), accidents and deficiencies on the frame, well look at photos.

* Henri Callot (1875-1956):

(Ec fr.). Pupil of Jules Lefebvre and Tony Robert-Fleury. Exhibited at the Salon of French Artists until 1936; an associate exhibition games; Gold Medal in 1920; from 1937 to 1940, it appears in the National salon. Mention it to its nnus and landscapes. Knight of the Legion of Honour.

Artist very well on ArtPrice side.

** The phenomenon of world exhibitions had a long genesis, but officially appeared in 1851 in London with the Great Exhibition of the Works of Industry of All Nations. This was the first of a long series which developed until the First World War and then became an international success formula. Before 1913, Antwerp, Brussels and Liege had already taken the role of host city. From April 26 to November 3, 1913, it was the turn of the city of Ghent to welcome the world.
