Pair of small oils on canvas by Charles Roussel * depicting the portrait of two fishermen from northern France smoking their pipe, probably Berck region, vintage early twentieth century.

These paintings are in good condition. A painting is signed at the top left.

* Charles Roussel (1861-1936):


painter from the North of France born in Tourcoing. (Ec fr). Pupil of Cabanel, Weerts and Tattegrain. He exhibited to the French Artists of which he has been cosiétaire since 1887, at the Salon des Tuileries in 1907 and 1908. Naval painter, he paints landscapes and portraits of his region of origin (Berck, Côte d'Opale and its hinterland) ) (See Benefit)
