Large oil on canvas depicting a marine landscape with fishing boats in a port, most certainly in Concarneau in Finistère (Brittany), signed H. Barnoin *, vintage twentieth century.

This painting is in good condition and is of high quality, it is very decorative due to its large size. Signed lower left.

A note: slight wear of time, see photos.

* Henri Alphonse Barnoin (1882-1935):

A pupil of Luc-Oliver Merson, he mainly derives from Emile Dameron, his second teacher, his taste for anecdotal landscapes that he generally animates with peasant crowds: fishermen and boats, rocky coasts and processions, that's the whole repertoire. of folfloric Brittany which nourishes his work. He has also exhibited at the Salon, since 1909, seascapes and views of Paris in watercolor. A work which obviously does not sin by excess of originality but which, in its serenity and its well-assured technique, is the faithful mirror of the painter's fervor for Breton daily life. (Cf Dictionary of the Little Masters of Painting by G. Schurr and P. Cabanne)
