Trained at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels, Guillaume Vogels pursues his career as an artist alongside his profession as a building painter and decorator, at the head of his company "Painting and Decoration" in Brussels. First influenced by the realist movement (Louis Artan de Saint-Martin, Théodore Baron and Hippolyte Boulenger), he discovered a brighter palette in the 1870s, under the influence of the Greek painter Périclès Pantazis (whom he employed). for a year in his company). In 1883, he was one of the founding members of the Brussels avant-garde artistic group Les Vingt and participated in several of the group's exhibitions.
