Large oil on canvas depicting a romantic scene of two elegant 18th-century women wearing beautiful taffeta and lace dresses, one engrossed in reading a letter, the other dreaming beside her, in a verdant castle park, dated 1856, in a gilt stuccoed wooden frame with medallions and foliage in the corners, from the mid-19th century.
This painting is in good condition, of very high quality, and very decorative. Dated in the lower left corner.
Please note: there are traces of slight restorations on the canvas, and there are accidents and missing parts on the frame (especially in the corners near the foliage). Look carefully at the photos (see red arrows).
