Very nice oil on canvas depicting the portrait of a monk hands clasped in prayer gesture, signed Deteix * vintage twentieth century.
This oil is in good condition (and frame), it is in its own juice. It is signed on the left side.
A note: the fabric is a bit depressed and buckled in several places (see red arrows), some scratches and paint shortages, some small accidents and wear on the frame, time wear, see photos.
painter (Ec en). Exhibitor in the Exhibition of French Artists and the Salon des Independants. Ed. Joseph cites this artist "apse fresco" in Perreux, as well as frescoes and mosaics for the church of Barcelonnette. (See Bénézit)
