* Yves Hélory de Kermartin,

or Yves of Tréguier, or Erwan Helouri in Breton, or Saint Yves in the Catholic tradition, is a priest and official of the diocese of Tréguier, probably born around 1253 at the Kermartin manor in Minihy, in the Duchy of Brittany, and died on May 19, 1303 in the same place. Considered by the Catholic Church to have dedicated his life to justice and the poor, he was canonized on May 19, 1347 by Pope Clement VI. Saint Yves is the patron saint of all professions of justice and law, notably that of lawyer. He is also the patron saint of Brittany and is the subject of a great pardon on the occasion of the feast of Saint-Yves every year in Tréguier. He is generally represented with a purse in one hand, to signify all the money he gave to the poor in his life, and a parchment in the other, which recalls his office as an ecclesiastical judge. He is also often depicted between a rich man and a poor man.
