Denert et Balichon is the brand under which the ceramist René Denert and the manager René-Louis Balichon, partners since 1921 in the Société Denert et Balichon in Vierzon, produced and marketed their semi-industrial production of decorative and advertising stoneware. René Denert established a ceramics workshop in Vierzon in 1908, taking advantage of the significant ceramic activity that had existed in the town since the early 19th century and his experience as a ceramist in Golfe-Juan. This business, after the arrival of René-Louis Balichon in 1910, became the Société Denert et Balichon in 1921. Production, initially primarily artistic, then included a vast catalog[1] of stoneware vases and decorative objects marketed under the Denbac brand, before expanding to include series of advertising pieces such as bottles for liqueur producers. In 1933, the company participated in the creation of the Vierzon Abbey Garden. After the death of its founder in 1937, the business declined. The company was put on hold during the Second World War, restarted with difficulty after the Liberation of France in a more industrial form, and finally ceased production in 1952.
