Articles
Earthenware egg cup signed by the Creil Montereau B&Cie factory, Rousseau model* with Japanese-style decoration of a dragonfly, a small insect and a leaf, from the 19th century.
This egg cup is in good condition. Signed underneath.
* This is the famous Rousseau model, created in 1866 by the merchant-publisher François-Eugène Rousseau and designed/engraved by the artist Félix Bracquemond. The decoration is inspired by Japonisme and naturalism (birds, fish, insects like the dragonfly shown here), and the blue-rimmed edges are particularly recognizable.
Note: slight signs of wear consistent with age, see photos.
