Very nice engraving of a portrait of the Duke of Richelieu (1766-1822), with the Medal of Odre the Holy Spirit, after the painter Lawrence * Laguiche by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, engraved by F.Lignon in 1824 XIXth century.

This print is in good condition as well as his golden wand, it is in its own juice. It will reattach in its frame. It is under glass.

A note: accidents on the frame, the paper is stained and discolored in places, see photos.

* Sir Thomas Lawrence (1769 - 1830) was a famous English painter, mostly of portraits. Lawrence went to London in 1787, where he was received by Joshua Reynolds and became a student at the Royal Academy. He was elected in 1794 and President from 1820 to his death. He painted many portraits of Caroline of Brunswick, where he was the lover. In 1815 he was knighted. In 1818, he went to Aix-la-Chapelle to paint the sovereigns and diplomats gathered there for the third congress. He visited Vienna and Rome, receiving all the princes of flattering marks of distinction. He was a master of George Henry Harlow.
