Russian orthodox icon depicting Saint John the Warrior in armor haloed with ray glory, holding his sword in his right hand, under the protection of God represented on the upper left, rice * in finely chiseled vermeil silver revealing the faces, hands and characters' feet, hallmark Smolensk 1860, XIXth century.
This icon is in good general condition, in its own juice. Russian hallmark 84 Smolensk 1860 goldsmith CC (unidentified). Cyrillic inscription in the upper right.
A note: some wear, scratches and lacks on the vermeil, some skinning and wear of time, dirt and dust on visible parts of the panel, look at the pictures.

There are several kinds of oclades: the "Basma" that covers only the frame of the object. And the "Riza" that covers the bottom of the icon and leaves visible only the body of the characters.
