Small orthodox (Russian) travel icon in the shape of a triptych, in metal and cloisonné enamels, presenting Christ in the center flanked on the left by the Virgin and on the right by Saint John the Baptist (oils on panels), symbol of Deisis *, d XIXth century.
This icon is in good condition and is of remarkable quality.
The iconographic representation of Deisis (intercession or prayer in Greek) includes Christ who holds the Bible in his left hand and blesses with the right while Mary and Saint John, in prayer and bowed heads, implore him to save Humanity .
