Rare reliquary in double medallion with 4 sides, silver and noble material frame, decorated with fine paperolles, dedicated to many Saints, with two small representations of the Virgin and Child Jesus, eighteenth century.

This reliquary is in good condition, in its own juice. It is of exceptional quality.

Dedicated to many Saints. Face 1: Elizabeth, Hugo, Hiorone (?), Anastasius, Vincent, Acqua, Victor, Luke. Face 2 (left inside): Viaue, Daniel, Chrisos, Desiioo (?), Paul, Germain, Vitas, Bernard, Innocent, Ignatius, Magiore, [illegible]. Face 3 (right inside): [3 illible], Anne, Mag.de, Leon, Rome, Libor, Felice, Therese, Julien. Face 4: Alphone, [illegible], Flavian, Primoge, Irion, Faustin, Eruler, Honore, Martha, Nuolas, Crespin, [2 illegible in the middle], Placid.

A note: missing the inner pane of protection on the left side, some small accidents and lacks on the edge of the frame (small legs), tiny shocks and wear of time, look at the pictures.

* Paperolle:

Artisanal technique of wrapping narrow strips of paper to create various forms and ornamental patterns. The paperolle is a very old technique used in the Middle Ages, in poor churches, to imitate gold or silver filigree decorations. The achievements were often reliquaries called reliquary to paperolles. Paperolle is a term derived from paper. It designates not only the technique, but also the realization in paper. The term rolled papers is sometimes used as a synonym.
