Rare important reliquary painting in paperolles * with architectural decoration in the form of baroque altarpiece, adorned with columns, pilasters and statuette of the Madonna and Child, dedicated to several Holy Martyrs: Benedictae, Benigni, Prosperi, Juconde, Benigni, Faust, Innocentini , Theodore, Celestin, Constance, Reparatae, Theopiste and Constance, in a wooden frame, 17th.

This reliquary is in good condition and is of exceptional quality by its size and the quality of the decorations. The status of the Virgin is wood or polychrome plaster. The fasteners have been changed and probably the glass. He no longer has his seals.

A note: missing a column in the lower part, accident on the paper decor in the center (see red arrows), accidents and wear of time on the reliquary, some small spots on the bottom paper and on the edges, accidents and holes of worms old on the frame, look at the pictures.

* Paperolle:

Artisanal technique of wrapping narrow strips of paper to create various forms and ornamental patterns. The paperolle is a very old technique used in the Middle Ages, in poor churches, to imitate gold or silver filigree decorations.
