Saint Stanislaus Kostka, born on October 28, 1550, in Rostkowo, Poland, and died on August 15, 1568, in Rome, was a Polish Jesuit novice. Having fled his family and brothers to enter the Jesuit order, he died in Rome shortly after beginning his novitiate. Canonized on December 31, 1726, he is liturgically commemorated on November 13.
